Curriculum Vitae prof. Andrzej Kowalczyk

Andrzej Kowalczyk, born in 1950, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and since 2008 the Vice-Rector for Science and Economic Cooperation of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
His main scientific interests are: hydrogeology, water management and environmental geology. He is an author and co-author of about 100 scientific and implementation studies, expertise and opinions provided to the Ministry of the Environment, Polish Geological Institute, Institute of Ecology of Industrial Areas in Katowice, provincial and local government administration.
Andrzej Kowalczyk is also an author 5 books, 84 articles, studies, dissertations and 32 lectures given at 24 national and international conferences, symposia and congresses. He is a Board Secretary of the International Mine Water Association and a member of International Association of Hydrogeologists. He was granted 11 research projects of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and participated in the projects within 5 and 6 Framework Programmes. Since 1985 he took part in numerous international internships, including a post of a lecturer at L'École des Mines, Miliana (1986-1987) and Institute de l’Hydraulique, Centre Univeristaire de Chlef (1987-1991) in Algeria.
